6 Popular Shopping Malls To Shop Till You Drop in Batam
Batam offers many shopping malls across the island. The whole island is “Duty Free”, so prices is considerably cheaper compare to Singapore. Where to buy, what to do and what to eat? The malls and most shops are open from 10.00 am to 9.00 pm every day and are normally open throughout all public holidays. Mind you, Prices are fixed and you cannot bargain. Usually visitor tend to buy Kueh Lapis and bird nest as it is 50% cheaper compare to Singapore.
From what I experienced, some malls might not be Grab/Gojek friendly, and they will not pick up passenger since it is controlled by local taxi drivers. You might want to consider chartering a car and driver to save the hassle.
Here are all the recommended Batam shopping malls.
1. Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall

Nagoya Hill, not to be confused by a hill in Japan, (I think it gotten its name from WW2 Japanese occupation) is the biggest shopping mall in Batam. It is divided into two different dividers and one would easily spot the eatery street when you are there. They categorise all food and beverages at one part and on the other side would be apparel, handbags and souvenir stores.
The basement has a Hypermarket selling everything from food, clothing and electronics. You could stock up a month’s worth of groceries, toiletries, and daily necessities. Since Batam is very close to Singapore, goods in Nagoya Hill is kinda alike with Singapore. They do have some snacks that are unique to Indonesia. Electronics product like DSLR Cameras, Digital Cameras, Mobile Phone, Gaming Equipment, Computers are also available. You might wonder how do claim warranty? Not sure myself.

1st Floor Nagoya Hill Food Street provides a wide range of food & cuisine. There is a variety of fast food like KFC (the chicken is relatively smaller as compare to Singapore, and that’s because the KFC here uses Kampong Chicken), vintage A&W and Pizza Hut. And also the restaurants that are popular in Batam is Solaria (Chinese Food), Happiness Restaurant (Indonesian Food) Also available specialties from various regions in Indonesia such as, Padang Food, Meatballs (bakso), Chicken Noodle, Soto, and others.
